Immediate Action Required for Food Stamp Recipients Impacted by This Month's Storms!

Georgians receiving SNAP (Food Stamp) benefits who live in Butts, Henry, Jasper, Meriwether, Newton, Spalding and Troup counties and lost food purchased with SNAP benefits due to the severe storms that led to the recent Presidential Disaster Declaration may request replacement of those SNAP benefits.

If you experienced a food loss due to power outages of four hours or more, you may receive replacement benefits within 10 days after reporting the loss.

To be eligible, affected individuals MUST report the loss of food to the local DFCS office and complete a Food Loss Replacement Form (Form 841) verifying the amount of loss. The deadline to submit Form 841 has been extended, but applicants must submit the form to DFCS no later than February 1 – so act quickly!
