Access to health care is part of the path out of poverty; such access allows children to attend school and learn. It also allows adults to work and stay healthy. GLSP works to secure medical coverage to preserve the security and stability of families, healthy futures for children and comfort in later life. We represent families and individuals with issues related to Medicaid, Marketplace, Medicare, PeachCare, and Georgia’s Medicare Waiver programs. GLSP represents residents of long-term care facilities to gain and maintain eligibility for Medicaid. We also represent long term care residents to prevent unlawful discharge. We provide brochures, flyers, and other community outreach materials for all forms of Medicaid and provide community education sessions.

GLSP certified counselors provide free, unbiased, and accurate information on Medicare and other related health insurance. Georgia SHIP is the State Health Insurance Assistance Program and serves clients in Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale counties.

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP, por sus siglas en inglés) es una sociedad anónima sin fines de lucro de la categoría 501(c)(3) que se financia, en parte, por la entidad Legal Services Corporation (LSC, por sus siglas en inglés). Por una condición de la financiación de LSC, se le restringe a GLSP llevar a cabo ciertas actividades en su trabajo legal incluso si el trabajo es apoyado por otras fuentes financiadoras.
